On June 10, 2026, Discord implemented changes to Privileged Intents which allows apps to access message content, member list and presence. (Apps that do not use such intents are not affected by these changes.)
- New Threshold for Privileged Intents: Previously, apps could use Privileged Intents until they're added to 100 servers after which they would have to apply for access to those intents. Moving forward, the threshold has been changed from 100 servers to 10,000 unique users across servers.
- If your app only has access to 10,000 users (for example a custom app for one server under 10k members), this change will not affect your app.
- Once your app reaches the 10k user mark, you will receive an email/system dm, after which you'll have 90 days to submit your application.
- Your app will continue to have access during the 90 day period. If the application is submitted within the 90 day period, your app will continue to have access while your application is under review.
- Annual reapplication for Privileged Intents: Apps with Privileged Intents will need to reapply annually to maintain access. The process will be the same and your app will continue to have access while your application is under review. If your app does not need the intents at any point, you can choose not to apply for it.
- App Verification is now separated from Privileged Intents application
