Discord is working on introducing enhanced privacy settings for profile. This post will briefly go over what is, and is not hidden from others when enabled.
How to enable
- Head to your settings
- Data & Privacy > Look for the Profile Privacy section
- Here you have three options:
- Friends & All Servers: Your full profile will be visible to everyone who shares a server with you, or is a friend.
- Friends & Small Servers: Your full profile will only be visible to users sharing with you that has 200 or less members, or is a friend.
- Friends Only: Only users added as a friend will be able to see your full profile.
The introduction of Profile Privacy means that users who do not share any servers with you and are not added as a friend will no longer see your full profile by default. This does not affect their ability to find and add you.
What information is hidden?
The following information is hidden from yoir profile when enabled:
- Custom Status
- Pronouns
- Badges
- Activity
- Connected accounts
- About me (bio)
- Widgets
- Wishlists
The following is always visible, regardless of your Profile Privacy settings:
- Avatar
- Banner
- Display Name
- Username
- Server Tag (if set to public)
- Account Age
- Mutual friends and servers
Good to know
- Other privacy settings remain independant, such as who can send you messages or friend requests.
- Activity Privacy can be toggled independently from your profile visibility to override sharing.
- You will not need to be age-verified in order to change Profile Privacy settings.
- Does not interfere with Native Automod, specifically the username rule.
